The Rotator Cuff is especially important for athletes. The Rotator Cuff is a group of 4 muscles that work to move the shoulder. (supraspinatus, infraspinatus, teres minor, subscapularis) It is used to rotate the arm in all directions, it also is involved in throwing, pitching, swinging, etc. The rotator cuff is sensitive to awkward movements. Intense strain can cause tear or serious inflammation in the muscles or tendons. The Rotator cuff strength is something to look out for as an athlete because without it damage and serious injury may occur. |
