It was announced today that Pete Carroll had indeed reached an agreement with the Seattle Seahawks about coaching next season.

There had been some speculation about compliance with the Rooney Rule, which states that in searching for a head coach, at least one minority must be interviewed; however, sources report that Frazier from Minneapolis had agreed to an interview, which would allow Carroll to take over in Seattle. Nothing has been sealed yet, but at this point it looks very apparent that Pete Carroll will be leaving the NCAA and taking up his third NFL gig.

I personally am very sad. If this works out, this would represent the end of an era for the USC Trojans. Since his hiring in 2000, he has appeared in two BCS National Championship games, seven top 4 AP finishes, seven BCS Bowl appearances, and among countless All-Americans and a few Heisman  winners, he has had an astonishing record of 97-19. Even as a Michigan fan i will still miss him in the NCAA. Best of luck in the NFL.
