Unweighted Calf Raise This is a simple exercise that works your calves without any equipment. If done consistently this should help your explosiveness and vertical leap.
Description
  1. The motion in this exercise is exactly the same as the motion in the Machine Calf Raise without the added machine weight on your shoulders.

Alternate Single Leg Version:

  1. Perform the same motion as before but bend one knee, forcing the lift to be performed by only the right or left leg.
  2. Use a pole or use a wall to support and balance yourself.
    Things to Keep in Mind
    • Place your toes on the edge of a stair to maximize the range of motion in this exercise.
    • Keep your back straight and knees bent throughout the lift.
    • Exploding upwards is a great way to increase your vertical leap
